As far as we know, the first invasive aquatic plant (i.e. Milfoil specific) survey was done in 2004 by the Darrin Fresh Water Institute (DFWI), and led by Larry Eichler.  Robert Forte and the Lake Luzerne Association were instrumental in arranging and assisting DFWI.

 

The black spots and blotches on the map show where dense milfoil beds were observed then.
